Hiro Kone is the alias of Nicky Mao, a New York-based musician and producer. A classically trained violinist who left the instrument to play guitar in punk bands, she now works with modular synthesis, noise and field recordings. Her albums include 'Love Is the Capital' (2017), 'Pure Expenditure' (2018) — premiered live at Berlin Atonal — and 'Silvercoat the throng' (2021), on labels such as Dais Records and Geographic North.
